General Troubleshooting
Command button is malfunctioning.
• If status indicator lighting is present, light is green or
white.
Door took too long to close, sensor was not activated
within required time.
• If status indicator lighting is present, light is red on
one side.
Door is obstructed.
• If status indicator lighting is present, light is red on
one side.
Command button was pressed too quickly after the door
was open.
• If status indicator lighting is present, light is red on
one side.
Rack sensor is malfunctioning.
• If status indicator lighting is present, light is green or
white.
Wrong hand-free sensor sensibility settings.

6.5 Door Does Not Open

Condition
Door does not open when Command button is pressed or hands-free sensor is obstructed.
General Troubleshooting
Door interlock is activated.
Both doors are open, preventing rack return to function
normally. Verify if something is preventing door from
moving.

Additional Information
1. Call STERIS (service charges may be incurred).
1. Verify if something is obstructing door. If so,
remove obstruction. Press Command button.
2. Pressure is too low. Verify if there is air pressure
leakage. Call STERIS (service charges may be
incurred).
3. Bottom sensor is malfunctioning. Call STERIS
(service charges may be incurred).
1. Remove obstruction and press Command button.
2. Obstruction sensor is malfunctioning. Call STERIS
(service charges may be incurred).
1. Press Command button to acknowledge alarm. If
optional status indicator lighting is present: light
turns green or white. Wait a few seconds before
pressing Command button once again.
2. Press Command button to close door.
1. Press Command button.
2. Push rack until it rests against the bumpers.
3. Press Command button to close door and return to
automatic mode.
4. If door reopens, rack sensor is malfunctioning. Call
STERIS (Service charges may be incurred).

Additional Information
1. Door does not open until door on opposite side is
closed.
