Need help?
Do you have a question about the T54W and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
phone doesn't answer when i pick up handset. It continues to ring. I need to manually press the 'answer' key. When I place down handset, phone call doesn't end, I need to manually press 'end call'
The Yealink T54W phone may not be answering automatically when the handset is picked up or ending calls when the handset is placed down due to one or more of the following reasons:
1. Handset Sensor or Hook Switch Malfunction: The phone may have a faulty hook switch or sensor that detects handset position, preventing the phone from recognizing when the handset is lifted or placed down.
2. Settings Configuration: The phone's settings may not be configured to automatically answer calls when the handset is picked up or to end calls when it is placed down.
3. Firmware or Software Issue: A software glitch or outdated firmware may be affecting normal handset behavior.
4. Physical Obstruction or Damage: Dirt or damage around the hook switch area may prevent proper mechanical operation.
To resolve the issue, inspect the handset hook switch, check the phone settings, and update the firmware if necessary.
