3.1.1
Assembling the Solar Panel
It is recommended to travel with the packaged unit and perform assembly of the solar panel at the L6Q
installation site.
NOTE: You must perform assembly on the ground before ascending a ladder with the unit.
Procedure:
1 In the Mobile Companion application, tap Start Hardware Installation.
2 Enter the necessary camera information and select the Solar Power option.
3 Insert the battery into the back of the Solar Panel Frame with the terminals facing the bottom of
the frame, opposite the hanging tab on the top.
4 Connect the Red Battery Cable wire into the socket on the Solar Panel Frame with the positive
plus (+) symbol.
5 Plug the Black Battery Cable into the socket on the Solar Panel Frame with the negative minus
(-) symbol.

6 Secure the battery to the Solar Panel Frame with Battery Fasteners (4x).
3.1.2
Mounting the Solar Panel
When and where to use: The solar panel should be positioned vertically on a pole above the L6Q
camera, and facing South at 12–14 feet off the ground.
Procedure:
1 Thread a Reusable Zip Tie through the top slot of the Mounting Bracket.
2 Place the Mounting Bracket against the pole and tighten the Reusable Zip Tie to hold it in place.
3 On the top and bottom of the Mounting Bracket, thread the Metal Band Ties (2x) through the
slots with the buckles facing out.
4 Insert the ends of the pole straps into the buckles around the pole.
5 Slide the Mounting Bracket to its final position on the pole (facing south) and tighten the Metal
Band Ties with the Hex Key Tool.
6 Trim any excess material from the Metal Band Ties with the Wire Snips.
7 Remove the Reusable Zip Tie for later use.
8 Hook the hanging tab on the Solar Panel Frame over the Mounting Bracket hook.
