MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

Remove nut (2) of breather assembly (1) at the top of DEF
tank, then remove cover (3).

Replace breather (4) with a new one.
4.
Install cover (3) and nut (2).
In order not to damage the threaded portion of nut, tighten
nut (2) by hand until it is seated, then tighten it 15 to 25° by
using a tool.
NOTICE
If breather assembly (1) is removed for replacement,
apply a tool to bolt (5) and tighten it.
Tightening torque: 6.5 to 8.5 Nm{0.66 to 0.87 kgm}

Close DEF tank cover at the right of the machine.
METHOD FOR CHECKING AND REPLACING ALTERNATOR AND AIR CONDI-
TIONER COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT
Special tools are required for inspection and replacement of the alternator and air conditioner compressor drive
belt. Ask your Komatsu distributor for inspection and replacement.
REMARK
As the automatic belt tensioner for the alternator and air conditioner compressor drive belt is installed, no belt
tension adjustment is required.
EVERY 2000 HOURS MAINTENANCE
Maintenance for every 10, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 hours should be performed at the same time.
METHOD FOR CHANGING OIL IN FINAL DRIVE CASE
•
Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn in-
jury. Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
•
If there is remaining pressure inside the case, the oil or plug may jump out. Loosen the plug slowly
to release the pressure.
•
Do not stand in front of the plug when you loosen the plug.
Refill capacity: (each of right and left) 24 ℓ
