Of particular importance are the general installation and safety regulations for work in a high-voltage environ-
ment (for example, ANSI, IEC, EN, DIN, or other national and international regulations). These regulations must
be observed.
Activating the Battery
Note
The battery is covered by a protective film, which also prevents premature discharge.
The battery compartment is located on the rear of the base module. You do not have to take the battery
out of the compartment in order to remove the protective film.
• Pull out the battery compartment including the battery.
• Remove the protective film from the battery by simply pulling on the film tab.
• Push the battery compartment including the battery back in again.

Configuration Information

Prerequisites
For installation and connections the following conditions must be met:
The rated device data have been checked as recommended in the SIPROTEC 4 System Description/1/. It has
been verified that these data comply with the power system data.Siemens recommends installing DIGSI in
Windows 7. The version of DIGSI is 4.90 SP1 or higher.
General Diagrams
Block diagrams for the terminal assignment of the 6MU805 are shown in Appendix A.2. Connection examples
for the current and voltage transformer circuits are provided in Appendix A.3.
Voltage Connection Examples
Connection examples for voltage transformers are provided in Appendix A.3. It must be checked that the con-
figuration of the Power System Data 1 (Section 2.1.2.2) corresponds with the connections.
Binary Inputs and Outputs
The configuration options of the binary in- and outputs, i.e. the procedure for the individual adaptation to the
plant conditions, are described in the SIPROTEC 4 System Description/1/. The connections to the plant are
