Master mode
The GP-IB interface module sends interface messages to
connected devices.
The GP-IB interface module (talker) sends data (device
dependent messages) to a device specified as a listener.
The GP-IB interface module selects one connected device
and specifies it as the talker, and receives data (device
dependent messages) sent from the talker.
This function collects errors or operations that have occurred or have been performed in the GP-IB interface module, and
stores them in the CPU module as event information.
This function enables users to update the firmware versions of modules by using firmware update files. (For the firmware
update file, please consult your local Mitsubishi representative.) For details on the function, refer to the following.
 MELSEC iQ-R Module Configuration Manual
This function executes interrupt programs of the CPU module when an interrupt factor, such as reception of data from a
connected device and an error, has been detected.
Slave mode
The GP-IB interface module operates according to the
interface message sent from the controller.
The GP-IB interface module sends the SRQ to notify the
controller of the following: errors or status changes of the
connected devices; necessity of data transmission from the
controller. With the SRQ, the interface module requests the
controller to perform the serial poll.
When specified as the talker by the controller, the GP-IB
interface module sends data (device dependent messages)
to a device specified as a listener.
When specified as a listener by the controller, the GP-IB
interface module receives data (device dependent
messages) sent from the talker.
