To fix a paper empty error on the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500 Series when there is paper in the cassette, follow these steps:

1. Check the gear on the host machine side for missing teeth or improper movement.
2. Check the Cassette Lifter Motor (Cassette 2 or 3, depending on the cassette showing the error).
3. Verify the harness/connector between the DC Controller and the Lifter Motor.
4. Check the fuse in the DC Controller for proper conduction.
5. If needed, replace the Cassette Lifter Motor.
6. If the issue persists, replace the DC Controller PCB.

These steps address lifter motor or sensor issues that prevent the paper from being recognized.
