Removing and installing rear win-
dow
Removing undamaged rear window
- Remove high-mounted brake light
- Remove rear heated window connections
and press connector tongue onto the win-
dow
- Continue in the same way as for removing
the windscreen ⇒ page 64-3, remove wind-
screen.
Removing damaged rear window
Warning!
Always wear protective goggles and gloves.
- Protect vehicle interior from glass splinters.
- Remove rear heated window connections.
- Remove glass residues.
- Cover the painted surfaces along the window
with textile adhesive tape.
- Cut through the glue (with glass residue) e.g.
with the cutting tool e.g. V.A.G 1561/10 (with
stop roll).
Installing rear window
Prepare new window for fi tting ⇒ page 64-5.
Prepare body fl ange for fi tting ⇒ page 64-7.
Mounting instructions ⇒ page 64-6.
Waiting time ⇒ page 64-8.
