If there is a gap between the rear roller and the
gauge bar, or if the rear roller will not let you put
the gauge bar on the bedknife, proceed as follows:

Loosen the lock nuts on the rear side brackets
(Fig. 24).

To reduce thread play, turn the rear adjusting screw
clockwise until a slight gap exists between the rear
roller and gauge bar. Then turn the rear adjusting
screw counterclockwise until the rear roller contacts
the gauge bar. After adjustment, verify that the
gauge bar contacts the rear roller on both ends of
the bedknife.
NOTE: Make sure the gauge bar is in contact with
the front roller at all times to keep correct cutting
unit attitude.

Slide the gauge bar toward the end of the cutting
unit to remove it. The gauge bar can now be useed
to set the remaining cutting units on the machine.
