Caution
■Mounting procedure
1.
Refer to the user's guide provided with the server unit, and remove the server's
covers.
2.
Remove the slot cover from PCI slot 2.
Open the card cover to remove the slot cover.
Point
The remote service board can be attached only to PCI slot 2. If another card is
already attached in this slot, refer to the user's guide provided with the server
unit, and move the card to another slot.
3.
Remove the slot protector plate from the I2C connector side of PCI slot 1.
Pull the slot protector plate up to remove.
4.
Firmly attach the remote service board so that there is no gap between the server unit
and connector.
5.
Connect the two cables provided with this product. (See Mounting Position.)
6.
Attach the slot protective plates.
7.
Close the card cover.
Press the card cover down until you hear it click into place.
8.
Refer to user's guide provided with the server unit, and attach the server's covers that
you removed in step 1, and connect the power cable.
Point
When you attach the remote service board, it sometimes takes about one minute
for the screen to be displayed after you turn the server unit ON. This happens
when the server waits for the remote service board to boot up to establish
communications between server BIOS and the remote service board.
This is not a malfunction. Wait until the screen is displayed.
Instructions
When removing or attaching the covers on the server unit,
follow the instructions in the User's Manual provided with
the server unit.
