Introduction to OceanStor Dorado V3 Series
The OceanStor Dorado V3 series storage systems are next-generation all-flash storage products developed by
Huawei based on the current needs on storage systems and future development trends. The storage products fully
meet medium- and large-sized enterprises' requirements for superb performance, high efficiency, enhanced data
security, excellent scalability, and easy management.
The product models involved in this document are:
Dorado3000 V3, Dorado5000 V3 (NVMe), Dorado5000 V3 (SAS), and Dorado5000 V3 Enhanced Edition (SAS)

    2 Installing Devices Planning device installation positions Total required cabinet space = 2 U + 2 U x (Number of 2 U disk enclosures) If Dorado NAS units are used, their space must also be counted, which is 2 U x (Number of Dorado NAS units).     3 Connecting Cables A generic view of cable connections on the controller enclosure When the storage system has two controller enclosures configured, connect cables following instructions in the OceanStor Dorado3000 V3, Dorado5000 V3, and Dorado6000 V3 V300R002 Installation Guide. 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f, and 3g in the figure map to the sections, respectively. (Section 3c is inapplicable to Dorado5000 V3 (NVMe) V300R002C00, while section 3e is inapplicable if no Dorado NAS unit is used.) The following figure uses AC power modules as an example to describe cable connection.

That is, each controller enclosure connects to a disk enclosure via two cables.
  • Page 11 Connecting NVMe disk enclosures to Dorado5000 V3 (NVMe) (Applicable only to V300R002C10 and later)  Dorado5000 V3 (NVMe) supports only NVMe disk enclosures.  A PCIe port can only connect to one disk enclosure.  Each controller connects to port P0 of a disk enclosure via one cable. That is, each controller enclosure connects to a disk enclosure via two cables.
