Maintenance
The OptiX OSN 3500 addresses the needs of the customers for the Operation,
Maintenance and Management (OAM) of the equipment in terms of cabinet, board
design, and function setting. It provides the following powerful equipment
maintenance capabilities.
The subrack generates audible and visual alarms to remind the network
administrators to take proper measures in the case of any emergency.
It provides sixteen Boolean value input interfaces and four Boolean value
output interfaces, and four cabinet alarm indicator output interfaces for
convenient operation and management of the equipment.
All boards are provided with running and alarm indicators to help the network
administrators to locate and handle faults as soon as possible.
The subrack supports Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) function of the
single-mode optical interface of the SDH interface unit and Ethernet interface
unit.
The Optical interface boards (Include EGS2) adopts Small Form-factor
Pluggable (SFP)-encapsulated optical module to provide users options of
single-mode or multimode optical modules for selection in practice. In this case,
only by replacing a cheap optical module, the telecommunication operator can
lease a line or GE service of different transmission distance to user without
