EtherNet/IP Configuration

EtherNet/IP consists of the RJ71EIP91 (1) and EtherNet/IP devices (2).
Connect the modules in a star topology using a switching hub and Ethernet cables. Line and ring topologies are not possible.

In EtherNet/IP, other external devices that perform TCP/IP communications can be used with the devices on
the same network.
Scanner and adapter
In EtherNet/IP, station types are separated into scanner and adapter.

5.1 EtherNet/IP Configuration

Description
A station type of EtherNet/IP that corresponds to the master station. The scanner has the control information and
controls the overall network.
Devices that have a connection of originator or target can be operated as the scanner.
A station type of EtherNet/IP that corresponds to slave stations. The adapter indicates stations other than the scanner.
Devices that have a connection of target can be operated as the adapter.
