Parameter settings before use
The following drive parameter settings should be made before starting up a step-up
drive system.
95.04 EX/SIN REQUEST
Set the parameter to SIN or EX&SIN. For more information, see the Firmware
Manual of the drive.
26.03 IR COMPENSATION
26.04 IR STEP-UP FREQ
Voltage boosting is used in step-up applications to achieve a higher starting torque.
The demand for a high starting torque affects the transformer design because
boosting the voltage at low frequencies increases transformer flux. The voltage
boost compensates resistive losses in the cables, step-up transformer, and motor.
Since voltage cannot be fed to the transformer at 0 Hz, special IR compensation is
used in step-up applications. Full IR compensation starts around slip frequency.
The voltage boost is set using parameters 26.03 IR COMPENSATION and 26.04 IR
STEP-UP FREQ.
