My lock is not working; the x is blinking red. I think I held the back button too long when I was trying to pair my phone with the lock because it said it couldn’t find device. Now, I can’t use code on lock or move lock with phone. Please tell me what I can do to get it working again.

A blinking red light on the Schlage BE489WB lock may indicate a failed Factory Default Reset (FDR). To fix this, perform an FDR by following these steps:
1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Press and hold the black circle reset button to the right of the thumbturn on the inside of the lock for 7 seconds, then release. 3. If successful, all keypad lights will illuminate for 3 seconds. 4. The blue checkmark will stay on for an additional 2 seconds and the lock will beep.
If the red "X" remains lit and the lock beeps, the reset has failed. Try the process again. If the issue persists, consider replacing the batteries with new alkaline AA batteries or contacting Schlage customer support.

The Schlage BE489WB may not connect after changing the batteries if the batteries were not installed correctly, such as not facing the door, or if the battery holder and cover were not reinstalled properly. Additionally, once the lock is connected to the app, manual programming is disabled and access codes are deleted, so reconnection may require using the app.
