  • Page 23 Adjust the paper slide guides to the size of the paper. IMPORTANT • Make sure to adjust the slide guides to the width of the paper you are using. • Set the slide guides so that they contact the paper lightly. If they are set too tightly, this may cause poor paper feeding or paper jams.

    Loading Envelopes When printing on envelopes from the stack bypass, use the following procedure to change the pres- sure adjustment levers. Printing envelopes without changing the levers may cause the envelopes to be creased. Also, be sure to reset the pressure adjustment levers in the fuser unit after you have fin- ished printing envelopes.

    Setting the Paper Stopper The top of the printer unit holds pages that are output face down, and the paper stopper prevents these pages from falling off the top of the printer unit. To use the stopper, flip it up and slide it to the correct paper size marker.

    If Paper Jams Are Occurring Frequently Cleaning the Corona Wires If paper jams are occurring frequently even though there is apparently nothing wrong with the machine, use the following procedure to clean the corona wires. CAUTION • The area around the fuser unit and the output area are subject to high temperatures. Take ade- quate precautions to avoid burns when cleaning paper jams.
