Section 2: Customizing Features
Programming
There are 3 steps to setting up a Door Box in DS1000:

Part I: Assign the Door Box chime tone.

Part II: Set up the Door Box Ring Group.
●
Part III: Program analog Door Box relay control.
Part I: Assign the Door Box Chime Tone
1.
Enter the programming mode. You see:
USER: nnn
ENTER PROGRAM?
2.
Enter 1801 + HOLD . You see:
1801:EXTENSION PROG
EXTENSION #?nnn
3.
Enter the Door Box extension number (324 or 325) + HOLD . You see:
1801:EXT:nnn
PT TYP?DOOR BOX
4.
Press VOL Up until you see:
1801:EXT:nnn
DOOR CHIME?nnnn
5.
Enter the chime type (0-3) that the Door Box should use to alert the extensions in its Ring Group +
HOLD
0 = Normal Ring Group (Intercom) ringing
1 = Low pitch chime pattern
2 = Mid range pitch chime pattern
3 = High pitch chime pattern
6.
Press CONF to go back to step 3 and select another Door Box to program.
Press CONF twice to exit program 1801.
Part II: Set Up the Door Box Ring Group
To add the Door Box and other extensions into the Door Box Ring Group:
1.
Enter the programming mode. You see:
USER: nnn
ENTER PROGRAM?
2.
Enter 1802 + HOLD . You see:
1802:EXT OPT PART I
EXTENSION #?nnn
3.
Enter the number of the Door Box (324 or 325) you want to assign to a Ring Group + HOLD . You see:
1802:EXT:nnn
ALLOW DND?nnn
4.
Press VOL Up until you see:
1802:EXT:nnn
RING GROUP NUM?n
5.
Enter the number of the Ring Group (1-8) to which the Door Box should belong + HOLD .

The Door Box alerts the extensions in the Door Box Ring Group (assigned in Part II) using the
chime type you select.
To have Door Box chimes alert extensions, the extensions have to be in the same Ring Group as
the Door Box.
After answering a Door Box chime, the extension user has the option of pressing a key to acti-
vate the system's relays.
The circuit type is automatically set for DS1000 Analog Door Boxes plugged into DOOR1 or
DOOR2 (extensions 324 and 325).

Ring Groups 1-8 are preset to use master numbers 600-607.
