APPENDIX B

24.1 Sample Keyboard Operating Instructions

(The information below can be used for reference and as a
training aid.)
1.
MANUAL CAMERA SWITCHING
(To view another camera)
Select the camera number you wish to view using the
numeric keypad and press the ENTER key. The selected
camera will then appear on the monitor.
2.
SWITCHING CONTROL TO ANOTHER MONITOR
(To change to a different monitor on which cameras may
be viewed/controlled)
Press the MONITOR key, then select the monitor number
you wish to control using the numeric keypad. Then press
the ENTER key. The keyboard display will now indicate the
selected monitor number and the camera currently displayed
on that monitor.

LOCKING/UNLOCKING A RECEIVER/DRIVER
(Restricts other operators from controlling the selected
pan/tilt/zoom camera)
Press the LOCK key, then press the ON key (or OFF key to
unlock the camera). Note the status area of the monitor
overlay display between the camera number and the time. This
area will now show a "
R
L
will prevent other operators (unless they have a higher priority)
from controlling the pan/tilt/zoom camera currently being
viewed. Remember to unlock the camera before moving on to
the next step.
4.
LOCKING/UNLOCKING A MONITOR
(Restricts other operators from switching video on the
desired monitor)
Press the MONITOR key, press the LOCK key, then press
the ON key (or the OFF key to unlock the monitor). The
status display of the monitor overlay will now show a "
indicating the monitor is locked. This will prevent other
operators (unless they have a higher priority) from changing
the video on the monitor being used. Remember to unlock
the monitor before moving on to the next step.
5.
PROGRAMMING A PRE-POSITION
CAMERA SCENE
(Stores the current position of a properly equipped
pan/tilt/zoom camera for later automatic recall)
Select a camera having pan/tilt/zoom control (with pre-
position options) as described above. Using the joystick and
lens controls, adjust the camera to view the scene you wish to
store. Press the SET key, then select the scene number using
the numeric keypad and press ENTER. The camera position
will now be stored in memory.

RECALLING A PREVIOUSLY STORED PRE-
POSITION CAMERA SCENE
(To recall the pan/tilt/zoom camera position stored in the
previous step)
Select the camera to be activated. Press the SHOT key, then
select a previously stored camera position number using the
numeric keypad. Press ENTER. The camera will
automatically return to the previously stored position.
7.
LOGGING-OFF TO SECURE SYSTEM
(To prevent unauthorized access to system operations)
If this system feature has been enabled, operators may secure
access to the system be pressing the USER key, then the
OFF key. The operator will then be logged-off the system
and the keyboard will no longer respond to commands.
8.
LOGGING-ON TO THE SYSTEM
(To regain access to the system)
If the keyboard indicates a logged-off state (USER and OFF
indicators are lit), an operator may log-on by pressing the
ON key, a user number (1 to 32), the ENTER key, the
correct password number (the default is the same as the user
number), and ENTER again. The keyboard display will now
indicate an active monitor and camera number.
9.
PROGRAMMING A SIMPLE CAMERA SEQUENCE
To program a sequence of cameras 1 through 5 having a 2
second dwell rate on the monitor currently being used, enter
the following commands:
A. To enter the programming mode, press PROGRAM, the
desired sequence number (1 to 60), then ENTER. The
monitor display will change to the following format:
1ST LINE = SEQUENCE # SEQUENCE LENGTH
2ND LINE = >CAMERA #< MONITOR # DWELL
Note the "> <" prompts around the camera number.
You may now enter the 1st camera of the sequence into

this position. If it is correct, no action is necessary. If
not, enter the desired camera number using the keypad,
then ENTER. Using the joystick control, move RIGHT
one step. The prompts now are around the monitor
number. Verify that the number indicated is the monitor
number being programmed. If not, enter the desired
number using the keypad, then press ENTER. Move
RIGHT again and verify that the number 2 is shown. If
not, enter 2 (for a 2 second dwell) using the keypad,
then press ENTER. One line is now complete.
Press the NEXT key to add a second line. The camera
number automatically increments while the monitor
number and dwell remain the same as the first line. Since
this line is correct, no change is necessary and NEXT
may be pressed 3 more times until line 5 is reached.
