To charge from on-board on-board battery banks with volta-
ges > 12 V an inverter that converts the voltage to 100-240 V
must be used. The inverter must have an output > 80 Watt.

7.4.4 Charging the batteries using solar energy

The battery can be charged directly using the Torqeedo Solar Charger 45 W (Torqeedo
item no. 1130-00).
If you use a different solar panel (not recommended), it must comply with the following
specifications:

If you do not use original Torqeedo equipment to charge yout battery
from the on-board batetry supply, do ensure that the appropriate wire
diameters are used (fire hazards).

Charging the battery with solar panels that do not comply with this spe-
cification damages the device and this is not covered by the warranty.
This also applies to using the wrong polarity.
• Only charge the battery on non-flammable ground under adult
supervision.
• If you are not using the Torqeedo Solar Charger, ensure proper cable
diameters to avoid danger of cable overheating and fire.
