Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how
often you do this type of work.
To reduce your exposure to these chemicals:
► work in a well ventilated area, and work with
approved safety equipment, such as those dust
masks that are specially designed to filter out
microscopic particles.
► Avoid prolonged contact with dust frompower
sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other
construction activities. Wear protective clothing
and wash exposed areas with soap and water.
Allowing dust to get into your mouth, eyes, or lay on
the skin may promote absorption of harmful chemicals.
Warning! Use of this tool can generate and/or disperse
dust, which may cause serious and permanent respiratory
or other injury. Always use NOSH/OSHA approved respiratory
protection appropriate for the dust exposure. Direct particles
away from face and body.

protection that conforms to ANSI S12.6 (S3.19) during use.
Under some conditions and duration of use, noise from this
product may contribute to hearing loss.

SAFETy and PREVENTING PROBLEMS. The symbols
below are used to help you recognize this information.

► When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy
enough to carry the current your product will draw. An
undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting
in loss of power and overheating. The table shows the
correct size to use depending on cord length and
nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier
gage. The smaller the gage number, the heavier the cord.

OPERATION

Switch (Fig. B)
Caution! Check that the tool is not locked ON before
connecting it to a power supply. If the trigger switch is locked
ON when the tool is connected to the power supply, it will start
immediately. Damage to your tool or personal injury may result.
Caution! Allow the tool to reach full speed before touching
tool to the work surface. Lift the tool from the work surface
before turning the tool off.
To start the planer, depress the trigger switch (1) in Fig. B.
To turn the planer off, release the trigger switch.
Lock-On Button (Fig. B)
The tool can be locked on for continuous use. To lock the tool
ON depress the trigger switch (1) and push in the lock-on
button (2). Hold the lock-on button in as you gently release
the trigger switch. The tool will continue to run.
To turn the tool OFF from a locked-on position, squeeze and
release the trigger once.
Adjusting Planing Depth (Fig. C)
Warning! Turn off and unplug the tool before making any
adjustments or removing or installing accessories.
Planing depth is infinitely variable from 0 to .5/64ths in.
