Using RDS
(European model only)
Radio Data System, or RDS as it's usually known, is a
system used by FM radio stations to provide listeners
with various information-the name of the station and
what kind of show they're broadcasting, for example.
RDS allows you to search through stations automati-
cally using this information. It shows up as text on the
display, and you can switch between the type of
information shown. Although you don't get RDS
information from all FM radio stations, you do with
most.
This unit lets you display three different kinds of RDS
information: Radio Text, Program Service Name, and
Program ppe.
Radio Text (RT) is a message sent by the radio station.
It can be anything the broadcaster chooses-a talk
radio station might give out its telephone number as RT,
for example.
Program Service Name (PS) is the name of the radio
station.
Program 'Qpe (PTY) indicates the kind of program
currently being broadcast.

Le systilme de donne'es de radio (Radio Data System), ou
plus habituellement connu par RDS, est un syst2me
utilise' par les stations de radio FM pour offrir aux
auditeurs diffdrentes informations. Le nom de la station
et le type de programme qu'ils sont en train d'bmettre,
par exemple. Le RDS vous permet de rechercher
automatiquement parmi les stations en utilisant cette
information. Cela fait apparaitre un texte sur
l'affichage, et vous pouvez permuter entre le type
d'informations montrbes. Me^me si vous n'obtenez pas
les informations RDS depuis
toutes
les stations de radio

Cette unite' vous permet d'afficher trois diffbrents types
d'information RDS : le texte radio (Radio Text), le nom
du service de programme (Program Service Name), et le
type de programme (Program pipe),
Le texte radio (RT) est un message 6mis par la station
de radio. I1 peut s'agir de n'importe quel texte choisi par
le radiodiffuseur. Une station de radio d'ichange avec
les auditeurs peut donner par exemple comme RT son
nume'ro de tCl6phone.
Le nom du service de programme (PS) est le nom de la
station de radio.
Le type de programme (PTY) indique le genre de
programme actuellement 6mis.
