Network Setup

Many of these options are used to set up a wireless network for your MVCI. Refer to Wireless Network Setup on
page 30 for instructions on setting up your MVCI
For most installations, the factory default settings should be used. The following setup information is included if
you need a unique setup because of your PC configuration:

• Ethernet

• USB Device
• Wireless
• DHCP Server
Ethernet
You can connect the MVCI to your HDS PC with an Ethernet cable (The MVCI supports both Crossover and
Straight Through Ethernet cables). It is recommended that you use the MVCI's default settings; the default IP
address is 172.19.250.11 and the MVCI DHCP Server is enabled.
NOTE:
• For an MVCI with the default settings to communicate with the HDS PC using the Ethernet connection, make
sure the HDS PC is set to automatically obtain an IP address.
• Some laptops have a feature that automatically disables its wireless connection whenever an Ethernet
connection is detected. Disable this feature before connecting the MVCI to the HDS PC.
1. To change the Ethernet network settings, select Ethernet under Network Setup, then press ENTER.
2. To change the IP address, highlight the IP address, then press ENTER. Use the up/down buttons to change the
number and the left/right buttons to move between the components of the IP address.
Press ENTER to accept the changes, then press ESC to return to the previous menu. To return to the previous
menu without accepting the changes, press ESC.
3. To change the subnet mask, highlight the Subnet Mask, then press ENTER. Use the up/down buttons to change
the number and the left/right buttons to move between the components of the Subnet Mask. Press ENTER to
accept the changes, then press ESC to return to the previous menu. To return to the previous menu without
accepting the changes, press ESC.
