Troubleshooting guide

Before requesting service, make the below checks. If you can't fix the unit as described below, or if something not listed here occurs, refer to the
enclosed directory to locate an Authorized Service Center convenient to you or contact your dealer.

Common Problems
No sound.
Sound is unfixed, reversed or
comes from one speaker only.
Humming heard during play.
"ERROR" is displayed.
"– –:– –" appears on the display.
"F61" is displayed.
"DVD U11" is displayed.
"DVD H .." is displayed.
(.. will be numbers.)
Playing discs
The display is wrong or play won't
start.
The picture does not appear on
the TV, when playing DVD.
The picture does not appear on
the TV, when playing Video CD.
The initial settings menu cannot
be accessed.
You have forgotten your ratings
password.
Listening to the radio
Noise is heard.
The stereo indicator flickers or
doesn't light.
Sound is distorted.
A beat sound is heard.
A low hum is heard during AM
broadcasts.

Turn the volume up.
The speaker cords may be shorted. Turn the unit off, check and correct the connections and turn the
unit on. 8, 9
Check speaker connections. 8, 9
An AC power supply cord or fluorescent light is near the cord. Keep other appliances and cords
away from this unit's cords.
Incorrect operation performed. Read the instructions and try again.
You plugged the power supply cord in for the first time or there was a power failure recently.

Check and correct speaker cord connections. 8, 9
If this does not fix the problem, there is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.
The disc is dirty. Wipe it with a soft cloth.
A problem has occurred. Turn the unit off and unplug the AC power supply cord. Wait a moment and
then plug the cord in and turn on the unit again. If the unit is still not working correctly, consult the
dealer.
The disc may be upside down. ?
Wipe the disc.
Replace the disc if it is scratched, warped, or nonstandard.
Condensation may have formed inside the unit due to a sudden change in temperature. Wait about
an hour for it to clear and try again.
The region number of the disc doesn't match the region number of this unit. >

Set the TV to video input mode.

Reset the unit to its original factory settings by doing the following procedures.
1 Press [º] on the main unit and [L] on the remote control at the same time for about 3 seconds
until the message "Initialized" disappears from the television screen.
2 Turn the unit off and on again.
Use an outdoor antenna. 9
Turn the TV off or separate it from the unit.
Separate the antenna from other cables and cords.
