[A] Cassette tape deck/video cassette recorder
You can play the sound from a cassette tape deck or a video
cassette recorder through this unit's speakers or record sound
from the unit onto a cassette tape or a video cassette.
To record to a cassette or video deck, connect to LINE
OUT (A).
To listen to sound from another unit through this unit's speakers,
connect to AUX (B).
[B] Record player
Sound cannot be produced unless a phono equalizer (not in-
cluded) is connected.
A record player with a built-in phono equalizer is recommended.
[C] Amplifier with DTS decoder
You can enjoy DTS by connecting an amplifier that has a DTS
decoder (
page 41 for setting).
Remove the dust cap on this unit's rear panel and connect using
an optical fiber cable.
[D] TV with an S-VIDEO terminal
The S-VIDEO output terminal achieves a more vivid picture than
the VIDEO output terminal by separating the color and lumi-
nance signals before transmitting them to the television. (Actual
results depend on the television.)

[E] Subwoofer
The included front speakers have superwoofers, but by con-
necting a subwoofer, you can enhance the bass effect found on
DVDs encoded with Dolby Digital (

Recording onto an external unit
Select the desired source.
Start recording on the external unit and start playing the source to be
recorded.
