Reference Guide for the Model RT338 ISDN Router

Test LED

When power is applied to the router, the Test LED blinks for a minute at a rate of about 0.5 Hz and
then turns off. If the Test LED does not blink or stops blinking and stays on, there is a fault within
the router. Power cycle the router and see if it recovers. If the error persists, you may have a
hardware problem. Contact NETGEAR's technical support.

LAN Link LED

Check the following if the LNK/ACT LED does not light when an Ethernet connection is made:
Verify that the Ethernet cables are secure at the router and at the hub or workstation.
Verify that power is turned on to the connected hub or workstation.
Be sure that you are using the correct cable:
— If you are connecting a Model RT338 router directly to a workstation or to the uplink
(MDI) port of a hub, use the included red crossover cable.
— If you are connecting a Model RT338 router to a normal (MDI-X) hub port, use the
included white straight-through cable.
