TIP
Turning the clutch adjusting screw out decreases
clutch free play and turning it in increases clutch
free play.
3. Tighten the locknut to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:
Locknut:
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf, 14 ft·lbf)
TIP
When tightening the locknut, hold the adjusting
screw with a screwdriver so that the adjusting
screw does not turn together with the locknut.

Checking and lubricating the cables
The operation and the condition of all control ca-
bles should be checked before each ride, and the
cables and cable ends should be lubricated if nec-
essary. If a cable is damaged or does not move
smoothly, have a Yamaha dealer check or replace
it.
