ADDCONF (ad)

ADDCONF (ad)
Once the configuration file is built for a specific SYSGEN base configuration,
and the MPE/iX Volumes are initialized, the Ldevs must be configured for
HAFO with their primary and alternate paths. Fully qualified paths are required.
Research and obtain this information prior to configuration. The syntax is:
addconf (ad)
A "path" is a description of the MPE/iX I/O Path including host adapter plus
cables and interconnection devices (like FC Routers or Switches) to connect to
the high-availability array.
<Ldev> is the MPE/iX device id from the SYSGEN io>"add device"
command.
<path> is the complete path value from SYSGEN io> "Add Device" command
(for the primary path)
<altpath> is an abbreviated path describing the "alternate path" to the device.
This value is slightly different for SCSI HBA vs. FC HBAs (see examples
NOTE
below) For SCSI HBAs, the altpath is only the path of the alternate HBA
(e.g. one does not specify SCSI target and LUN values). For FC HBAs the
altpath must include the HBA and FC-Nport value (e.g. only the LUN is not
specified).
<timeout> controls whether slow I/O will trigger a primary path failure; see
discussion below for more details.
