Note:

Use this setting when photographing people with a flash at
night or indoors. The flash will go off once and will go off again
when the photo is taken. This will help to reduce the red-eye
phenomenon.
The flash will go off no matter the brightness. Use it when the
background is bright or when you are shooting against the sun.
This function is unavailable in auto photography mode.
The flash is used combined with a slow shutter speed. By using
the slow synchro, you can take an action photo with a blurred
background. This function is unavailable in auto photography
mode.
