(2) Manual compensation:
±3 stops in 1/3-stop increments, by independent
operation of quick control dial or combination of
exposure compensation button + main dial; can be
used together with AEB.
(1) Auto AE lock:
AE lock occurs simultaneously with AF completion in
one-shot AF mode with evaluative metering.
(1) Auto AE lock. During One Shot autofocus and
RS
evaluative metering, AE locks when focusing is achieved.
(2) Manual AE lock:
Possible in all metering modes by pressing AE lock
button.
(2) Manual AE lock. AE lock button enables all
RS
metering modes. In the RS mode, AE lock will not work
after autofocusing is achieved.
Up to nine exposures can be preset (can be canceled or
reset in mid-operation)
TTL-CT-SIR (Secondary Image Registration) phase
detection type using Cross-type multi-BASIS (Base-
Stored Image Sensor). Focus completion indicated by
LED lamp and audible beep (Lamp blinks at 8 Hz when
autofocusing is impossible; beep sound can be turned off)
Five focusing points provided.
Selected automatically by camera or manually by user.
(1) One-shot AF:
At focus completion, AF operation stops, AF lock
occurs and the shutter release is enabled.
(2) AI Servo AF:
AF system tracks moving subject until immediately prior
to exposure, includes predictive focusing function, shut-
ter release enabled at all times (however, predictive
focus control has priority in continuous exposure mode);
in-focus indicator does not light when focus is achieved,
but blinks at 8 Hz when autofocusing is impossible.
In the RS mode, Al Servo autofocus cannot be set.
