Starting the vehicle
- To start the engine, the gear lever
has to be in position N.
- Fully depress the brake pedal.
- Action the starter.
- With the engine running, depending
on your preference place the lever
on R, A or M.
- Check the position engaged on the
rev counter.

warning lamp "N" flashes on the rev
counter.
If the brake pedal is not pressed
down, the warning lamp "Foot on
brake" flashes in the instrument
panel.
In both cases, the engine does
not start; recommence the above
procedure.
Note:
If
stationary for a long time, or if you
have pressed the brake pedal a
number of times while stationary,
it will be necessary to press the
brake pedal hard down in order to
authorise the engine to start.

Before switching the engine off, you
can choose:
- to leave the vehicle in neutral; for
that, place the lever in position N,
- to leave the vehicle with a gear
engaged (R, A or M); for that, place
the lever in the position chosen. In
this case, the vehicle cannot be
moved.
In all cases, it is essential to apply
the handbrake.
Before undertaking any operation
in the engine compartment, make
absolutely sure that the gearbox is in
neutral and that the handbrake is on.
Acceleration
To
obtain
optimum
acceleration
(for example to overtake another
vehicle), you have only to press the
pedal hard down to go beyond the
end-of-travel switch.
