  • Page 8 Using the Touch Pad Vertical scroll Horizontal scroll Trace counter-clockwise To scroll up To scroll left When the horizontal scroll function has not been enabled, any scrolling will be vertical scrolling. The screen will not scroll if you trace toward the center of the Touch Pad. On screens that cannot be scrolled (e.g., desktop screen), if you scroll, the computer may try to scroll the screen, causing the cursor to freeze.

NOTE Because the Touch Pad utility and the Scroll function of the driver both offer scrolling functions that use the Touch Pad, these two features cannot be used simultaneously. If you try to use them at the same time, a message may be displayed asking you if you want to enable the Touch Pad utility.

  • Page 67 Security Measures Preventing Your Computer from Unauthorized Use You can set a start-up password to prevent your computer from unauthorized use. Set the password ( page 66), and select [Enabled] or [Auto] in [Password On Boot] in the [Security] menu of the Setup Utility ( page 166).
  • Page 68 Security Measures NOTE The hard disk lock function works with the built-in hard disk. It does not work with the external hard disk. We recommend you to set [Password On Boot] to [Enabled] to ensure security though it is not required to enable the hard disk lock.
