Mounting

Mount the buffer on the optional Model g4789
stand (see page 22) or a workbench that is sturdy
enough to hold the weight of the machine.
the stand or workbench should be level, rigid,
and attached to the floor, so it will not move dur-
ing operation.
Mounting to G4789 Stand
1.
Bolt the stand to the floor.
Note: Because floor materials may vary, floor
mounting hardware is not included.

With the assistance of a helper, place the
buffer on the stand and secure with the four
"-18 x 1
" hex bolts (Model g3622) or the

"-18 x 2" hex bolts (all other models),

eight flat washers, and four lock washers and
hex nuts, as shown in Figure 6.

Get lifting help when
mounting the buffer. It is

Bolting Stand to concrete Floors
lag shield anchors with lag bolts (Figure 7) and
anchor studs (Figure 15) are two popular meth-
ods for anchoring an object to a concrete floor.
We suggest you research the many options and
methods for mounting your machine and choose
the best that fits your specific application.
NOTICE
Anchor studs are stronger and more per-
manent alternatives to lag shield anchors;
however, they will stick out of the floor,
which may cause a tripping hazard if you
decide to move your machine.

Mounting to Workbench
the strongest mounting option is a "through
Mount" where holes are drilled all the way
through the workbench, and hex bolts, washers,
and hex nuts are used to secure the buffer
to the workbench, as shown in Figure 6.
