POINT
1. How to remove the cover (Fig. 1)
Remove
the screw
@
(2 pieces),
and
pull the
cover backward while opening the arrow portions.
2. How to remove the front panel (Fig. 2)
After removing
the cover,
loosen
the screws
@
(2 pieces) and
@
(3 pieces), and pull the front
panel forward.
Note:
4. How to remove the tray mechanism (Fig. 4)
(1) Put the tray in open
status,
disengage
the rail
from the claw of the tray as shown in Fig. 4, and
then move
the tray in the arrow
@) direction.
(2) Take off the tray upward while holding the rail.
Note:
Note that the lifter cam
is disengaged
from the
disc support and the disc support is lowered, if the
disc support is pushed down.
lf the disc support
should
be lowered,
open
the
tray, and push up the disc support from the under-
side.
With this procedure, the disc support will be
restored to the original position.
5. Mounting the tray mechanism
(1) Before
mounting
the tray mechanism,
hook
the
pin of the latch to the edge of the tray rack. (Fig. 5)
(2) Put the tray in open status, and mount
the tray
mechanism.
(3) Move
the
rails
in the
arrow
@
direction
as
shown in Fig. 4, and fix the tray.
6. How to Remove the Tray Panel
(1) Open the tray.
(2) Pull the center bottom of the tray panel in the ®
direction as shown in Fig. 6 in order to cause the
two-sided adhesive tape sticking the tray to the
tray panel to float.
(3) Push up in the @ direction the claw of the tray in
contact with the stopper located at the left bottom
of the tray panel.
(4) Push up the claw, and extract the tray panel in the
@® direction. while pulling the tray panel in the
® direction.
Extract the tray panel up the center, and detach
it while turning it as shown in Fig. 7.

After removing the front panel, loosen the screw

the upper and lower
claws (6 positions).

After removing the cover straighten the projections
shown
in Fig. 3 with radio pliers, and lift the
P.W.B..

the screws

and unsolder the two appropriate

the power cord.

After
removing
the cover,
loosen
the screw
(4 pieces)

(1 piece) and

(2 pieces).
Insert the removed
PX P.W.B.
into the slit of the
chassis,
and raise it so as to be convenient
for
repair.
When
raising the PX P.W.B., disconnect the con-
nectors
(CP6,
CP7) for the variable
resistor and
headphone.
In order to deliver the audio output
to the US pin terminal in this status, connect the
jumper wire
How to Replace the Belt (Fig. 10)
(1) Turn the pulley gear keeper with a conventional
type screwdriver, and remove the belt. In this case,
lift the tip of the pully gear keeper a little.
(2) While turning the pulley gear by hand, open the
tray.
(Stop the turning on approx. 20 mm
inner
side than the full open status.)
After setting the belt to the motor pulley with tweez-
ers, set it to the pulley gear. (Set the belt to the pull-
ey gear, while turning it. This is an easier method.
(4) Wipe off the oi! getting on the belt with an appli-
cator damped with Freon.
(While turning the pull-
ey gear, wipe all the four faces of the belt clean.)
(5) Turn the pulley gear keeper with a conventional

type screwdriver until it is fixed.
Note :
When
turning the pulley gear keeper,
lift its tip a
little, and execute
turning
gently.
Otherwise,
the
pulley gear keeper may be damaged.
If it is damag-
ed, replace the loading plate or refer to the descrip-
tion of damage to the pulley gear keeper given in
Section 9 to take temporary countermeasure.

In case the pulley gear keeper has been dama-
ged. (Fig. 11, 12)
Bore a 2.7¢ hole 15 mm
deep with a drill at the
damaged portion as shown in Fig. 11.
Attach
the
pulley
gear
keeper
with
a 3¢x10
bind
tapping
screw
via a 3@ washer
from
the
underside of the loading plate.
(3) Apply screw lock to the tapping screw.
