6. Compensation of the Room Tem-
perature Thermistor
Carry out this adjustment and compensate for
uneven precision of the thermistor on the volume
PCB after the engine controller PCB or the following
parts have been replaced.
* Carriage PCB
* DC power supply PCB
* Volume PCB
1) Set the printer to the service mode, and select
"Input Room Temp."
(Refer to page 5-43 about Service Mode
descrivibing below)

The temperature currently detected by the
printer is displayed on the message display.

Measure the room temperature using a ther-
mometer.
3)
Press the left or right arrow key to select the
measured temperature.
4)
Press the down arrow key.
* The printer determines the compensation
value from the selected temperature.
7. Compensation of the Head Tem-
perature Sensor
Carry out this adjustment after the engine con-
troller PCB or the following parts have been re-
placed. This adjustment compensates the refer-
ence value for the head temperature sensor inside
the bubble jet cartridge.

« DC power supply PCB
CAUTION
If you turn the cartridge fixing knob with the
cover switch jig inserted, this may damage
the carriage PCB.
To prevent mis-operating, do not use the
cover switch jig during carrying out this
adjustment.

1) Set the printer to the service mode, and select
"Head Rank Adjust."
(Refer to page 5-43 about Service Mode
descrivibing below)

* The carriage moves to the cartridge replace-
ment position.

Remove ail cartridges, and install the head
temperature sensor adjustment jig at the Bk
position.
Reference
This adjustment can also be carried out with all
four head temperature sensor adjustment jigs at-
tached.
