Remove the right and right rear covers.

Disconnect 6-pin relay connector @ from the
purge motor.
Remove 2 mounting screws @) and remove
purge motor @).
1. Precautions When Handling the
Purge Unit
¢ Take care not to touch the wiper blade or cap.
The waste ink tank is attached to the bottom
of the purge unit. When removing or install-
ing the purge unit, hold the sides of the unit.
Take care to prevent ink in the waste ink tank
from spilling on the floor.
Before removing the waste ink tank, carry out
empty suction to transfer the ink in the feeder
tube to the waste ink tank. (See page 3-24.)
. Removing the Purge Unit
1). Move the carriage to the center of the platen
and turn the power switch OFF.
2)
Remove the rear cover, right rear cover and
right cover.
3)
Remove the linear encoder. (See page 3-9.)
4)
Remove the pre-discharge tank and waste ink
tank. (See page 3-26.)
5)
Disconnect all of the connectors on the control
panel PCB and relay connectors around the
