Geting Ready to Enjoy Surround Sound
Adjusting the Input Level and Input Balance (for Dolby Surround Mode)
The STR-D2020 incorporates automatic adjustment cir-
cuitry of input balance which reproduces the best sur-
round effect. This circuitry allows you to skip the
adjustment the input balance when playing back a Dol-

The input balance is adjusted automatically, regardless
of the manual setting.
To adjust the input balance manually

ing the playback of monaural sound.
You can also adjust the input balance manually while
listening to the actual monaural sound.
Press AUTO INPUT BAL so that its indicator is off*.
Press SURROUND ON/OFF to ON.
Press SURROUND
MODE until DOLBY SURROUND
indicator is in square on the display.
Press PROLOGIC until CENTER OFF appears in the
display.
Play back the program source (refer to page 17).
Press PARAMETER
SUB until "Bal." appears in the
display.

Adjust the input balance by pressing <J or >, so
that the audio levels from the right and left speak-
ers are minimized during dialogue (monaural).
