SURROUND SYSTEM (SX-2300 Only)
What is surround
sound?
With
ordinary
stereo,
sound
normally
comes
only
from
speakers in front of the listener.
In a concert hail or theater
though, sound reflected from the walls and ceiling reaches
the listener from aif directions. This is what accounts for the
feeling of ambience
or spaciousness of a live performance.
Surround sound works to reproduce these effects to provide
fuller, more "live" sound
CONNECTING THE POWER CORD

For getting the most out of the surround system, place the
speakers as shown below.

UNSWITCHED:
Power flows continually to this outlet, regardless of whether
the receiver's POWER switch is ON or OFF. Electrical power
consumption of the connected equipment should not exceed
100 W.
NOTE:
This can cause the receiver to malfunction.

CONNECTING THE POWER CORD
(For U.S.A. and Canadian models)
Household electrical outlets are provided with specific
polarity, a positive side and a negative (ground) side. This
unit utilizes such polarity in order to improve sound quali-
ty. As shown in the illustration, be sure to insert the power
plug so that its blades match the width of slots in the
outlet.
