Remove any packaging and promotional material from your kettle and position it on a stable, secure, dry and level work surface away from the edge.
Before connecting to a power source, make sure your mains supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on the appliance. Connect the plug to a suitable power outlet and make sure that the power cord does not overhang the work surface. Excess power cord can be stored in the power base.
Remove the kettle from the power base and open the lid. Fill your kettle to the maximum mark and close the lid.
Place your kettle back onto the power base. Switch your kettle on, allow it to boil then discard the water. Repeat twice. This will remove any residue left over from the manufacturing process.
If this kettle is filled above the maximum level mark, hot water may be ejected from the spout during boiling. Beware of steam coming from the spout or lid especially during refilling. Never open the lid when the kettle is boiling.
A Breville® kettle, if used correctly, is a very energy efficient device. Why not try some of these energy saving tips:
If the kettle is operated with insufficient water a built in fail-safe device will automatically switch it off.
To ensure your kettle continues to work effectively we recommenced descaling regularly. Scale build up will prevent the noise reducing ring from working.
The Breville steam surge technology helps to stop build up of condensation in your kitchen by reducing the kettle steam output by up to 75%*.
When your kettle reaches temperature, it will automatically switch off. As this technology is paired with quiet boil we recommend using the water window light as the indication the kettle has reached boiling point.
Designed to make boiling water quieter.
The stainless steel disk attached to the kettle floor acts as a diffuser plate. It is perforated with a range of holes which help disperse, and reduce the size of, the water bubbles thus significantly reducing the noise of the boiling process.
Regular use of the kettle can lead to the build-up of mineral deposits which reduces the effectiveness of the diffuser plate as well as the performance of the kettle.
It is important to descale your kettle regularly to prolong the life of the kettle.
Breville recommend that the kettle is descaled every 4-6 weeks.
Always unplug the kettle from the mains supply socket and allow it to completely cool down before cleaning or descaling it. Do not immerse the kettle, power base or power cord and plug in water or any other liquid.
Before removing or refitting the filter, switch off the kettle and empty it. Allow it to cool completely, then unplug the power base from the mains supply socket. Never operate the kettle without the filter fitted.
