Unpacking the Router

This chapter contains these sections:

Overview

The IR8140H is an IP67 industrial router for outdoor use. It is comprised of a base modular platform with
four module slots. One of the four IR8140H modules is larger than the other three and is identified as the
super slot and is identified as Slot 0. This super slot 0 is reserved for the CPU module and it faces downward
in the IR8140H as labeled.
The other three slots support Universal Interface Modules (UIMs).
This chapter includes instructions about how to unpack the IR8140H and describes the items that ship with
the router.
Important
When you unpack the router, do not remove the foam blocks attached to the antennas and antenna connectors
until you install the router. The foam protects the antennas and connectors during installation.
To unpack the router:
Step 1
Open the shipping container and carefully remove the contents.
Step 2
Return all packing material to the shipping container, and save it.
Step 3
Ensure that all items listed in the
damaged or missing, notify your authorized Cisco sales representative.
