VENTURI MANIFOLD FOR VR9105V, F AND VR9205V, F GAS CONTROLS
Install the Control
1. Mount the gas valve onto the manifold assembly
using the correct flange connection set.
2. Place the gasket on the fan plate. Use the
protrusions on the mounting plate of the fan as a
positioning guide.
3. Check for correct positioning.
4. Place the gas valve manifold assembly over the
gasket.
5. Check for correct positioning and secure the
assembly by tightening the two thread forming
screws.
6. Mount the fan according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
7. Apply gas and electrical connections to the gas
valve according to I&I sheet 69-2471EF.
Perform the Gas Leak Test
WARNING
Fire or Explosion Hazard.
Can cause property damage, severe injury
or death.
Perform the Gas Leak Test every time work is
done on a gas system.
IMPORTANT
Do not spray soap and water solution on the
gas control. Do not use an excessive amount of
soap and water solution to perform the gas leak
test. These can damage the control.
Gas Leak Test
1. Light the main burner. Stand clear of the main
burner while lighting to prevent fire injury from
hidden leaks that could cause flashback in the
appliance vestibule.
2. Paint the connection between the Venturi manifold
and the gas control with a rich soap and water
solution. Bubbles indicate a gas leak.
3. If a leak is detected tighten the screw connections.
4. With the main burner in operation, paint the
connection between the Venturi manifold and the
gas control with rich soap and water solution.
5. If another leak is detected, turn off the appliance
and replace the sealing ring.
6. Replace the Venturi manifold if a leak cannot be
stopped.
ADJUSTMENT
Start-up the appliance, follow the appliance
manufacturer's instructions or turn the thermostat up to
call for heat. Check gas input to the appliance using a

pressure gauge connected to the outlet pressure tap. Put
a CO
meter probe into the exhaust gas outlet. Screw the
2
throttle adjustment screw approximately half way down
(about half an inch turned down). See Fig. 1.
1. Start the appliance.
2. Run the appliance at the maximum load.
3. Observe the CO
screw until the CO
value. Turn the throttle screw clockwise to reduce
the gas flow and CO
4. If the appliance does not start, turn the throttle
screw three turns counterclockwise and repeat the
starting procedure.
5. Keep the appliance running until it is completely
stabilized, and do fine adjustment when necessary.
6. Set the appliance to the minimum load.
7. Check the offset pressure according to the manu-
facturer's instructions. See I&I sheet 69-2471EF.
NOTE: Repeat steps 1 through 6 when adjustment of
offset pressure is necessary. After adjustments
are made, stop the appliance, disconnect the
pressure gauge and the CO
the outlet pressure tap. After any adjustment,
set the appliance in operation. Observe several
complete cycles to ensure that all burner
components function correctly.
There is strong interaction between the Venturi, gas
control and burner. For this reason it is important to fit the
characteristics of these components to each other. If not
matched well problems could be generated, such as
acoustic problems.
It is recommended to test the appliance at both cold start
and hot start conditions with high and low caloric test
gases.

MAINTENANCE

Under normal circumstances, no maintenance or
servicing is required.
WARNING
Fire or Explosion Hazard.
Can cause property damage, severe injury or
death.
Do not disassemble the gas control; it contains no
replaceable components. Attempted
disassembly, repair or cleaning can damage the
control, resulting in gas leakage.
