2 FUNCTIONS

The Auto Sipper is an instrument that is incorporated in the Model
UH5300 Spectrophotometer to measure the absorbance or
permeability of liquid sample. The sample cell is the flow cell to which
liquid sample is delivered by the peristaltic pump.
Delivery of liquid sample to the flow cell by the peristaltic pump
eliminates the need of exchanging and cleansing the sample cells by
hands at each measurement, which results in saving in labor.
Fig. 2-1 shows the configuration of the Auto Sipper system.
The system employs a peristaltic pump as the liquid delivery pump,
and is equipped with the inner electric circuit for controlling the
system.
Liquid sample contained in a test tube is sipped through the
peristaltic pump into the flow cell. The sipping amount can be
adjusted according to the rotation time of the pump.
The system is totally controlled by the computer.
