    MICHELANGELO USB Generality GENERALITY Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology provides high-speed data access over regular phone lines. ADSL service is able to co-exist on the same line with your telephone service. The ADSL has an unbalanced connection speed. It means that you have a connection where data are received at the maximum speed of 8Mbps and sent at the maximum speed of 1Mbps.

    MICHELANGELO USB Hardware Installation HARDWARE INSTALLATION Remove the Michelangelo USB from its package and check its integrity. Connect the USB cable to the USB socket on your Computer. If you have any problems identifying the USB socket on your Computer, refer to the User’s Manual of your PC.

WINDOWS® 2000, ME, 98 At the next reboot, Windows® (98/98SE, ME, 2000) will automatically detect a new hardware and start the driver installation process. Follow the instructions. For a easer installation we suggest to cancel the driver installation and then perform the configuration utility.

    MICHELANGELO USB Software Installation 3.3. CHECK THE INSTALLATION The USB ADSL modem control panel provides a quick and easy way to check the performance of the modem and tha ADSL connection. There are two methods to access the control panel: From the Start - Settings - Control Panel, double click the GlobeSpan DSL Modem.

    MICHELANGELO USB Software Installation 3.4. CHANGE AND UPDATE THE DRIVERS To change the ADSL profile or update the drivers click Start - Programs - MichelangeloUSB - Configure. Click on the “Update” button. Browse to folder where the driver are located.

    Just double click on the new Dial-Up connection, type in the User Name and Password. PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) You have to use a PPPoE utility if your ISP uses the RFC1483 (Michelangelo USB LAN) profiles. The PPPoE utility is usually provided by your ISP.
