  • Page 17: Set-Up Instructions

Set-up instructions Preparing the tractor If necessary, use counterweights on the front part of the tractor. Hitching to the tractor For coupling, choose a place as flat as possible. Drive the tractor slowly in reverse gear to the cutter direction and be ready to brake. When close enough, use the lever to control the hydraulic position, leaving the left lower arm in the same level of the hitch pin.
  • Page 18: Rotary Cutter Leveling

Set-up instructions Rotary cutter leveling Use the upper arms (third point) and the lower right one, which have adjustments, to level the equipment. • Before coupling the tractor to the rotary cutter, note the NOTE holes (A) on the drawbar. Connect the hydraulic arm (B) on the upper or lower hole according to your tractor model to leave the equipment leveled.
  • Page 19: Coupling The Cardan Shaft To The Pto

Set-up instructions Coupling the cardan shaft to the PTO Before starting operations, check the length of the cardan shaft in the following way: • Being the cutter properly hitched to the tractor and without the cardan shaft, move the hydraulics to reach the minimum distance (A) between the PTO and gearbox. •...
  • Page 20 Set-up instructions • It is important to give finish working in the cut parts. For this purpose, use a filer. Soon after, remove the filing and lubricate the 'male' with a fine layer of grease. • Decrease the length of both protective covers, using the cut tubes as a measure and clean the cut residues.

The RC² 2600 LSL model can work in a lateral or super lateral position. If it is necessary to change the position, follow the instructions below: •...
  • Page 25: Direction Of Blades Rotation And Serial Number

Set-up instructions Direction of blades rotation and serial number The RC² 2600 CL, RC² 2600 LSL and RC² 3100 CL models have blades that turn in different directions (clockwise and counterclockwise), so the blades can lift and cut the vegetation that is inclinated or lying on the ground. The blades have double cut, allowing to use them on both sides and for a long NOTE time.
  • Page 26: Adjustments And Operations

Adjustments and operations Cutting height of the blades The cutting height of the blades can be adjusted by the lateral skids (A) or rear wheels (B), which have adjustments. • When changing the cutting height, it is also necessary to adjust the levers NOTE of the hydraulic system to level the equipment again.
  • Page 27: Drawbar Extension Adjustment (Third-Point Articulation)

Adjustments and operations Drawbar extension adjustment (Third-point articulation) Use the upper arm from the third point to adjust the drawbar extension, in a way that it stays slightly tilted back, according to the figure. Therefore, the articulation will be enough to follow the unevenness of the soil surface.
  • Page 28 Adjustments and operations Slip clutch The abnormal occurence of clutch slippage, after some time of use and not operating with overloads indicates the need for adjusting it, due to the wearing in the discs (B). It is important to maintain the adjustment of 28 mm in the springs, in order to compensate the wearing in the discs (B) and to maintain the good operation of the clutch.
  • Page 29: Operations - Important Points

Adjustments and operations Operations - Important points • Before starting working, it is advisable to do a complete check on the rotary cutter. Grease the universal joints, check the oil level in the gearbox and tighten nuts and bolts. • The stabilizers of the lower arms of the tractor must be adjusted being the equipment totally lifted.

Adjustments and operations Troubleshooting guide PROBLEM CAUSES POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS Worn out or broken blades. Replace them (only in pairs - page 32). Incorrect PTO rotation speed. Correct rotation speed: 540 rpm. Excessive speed. Reduce the speed. Blades do not work when the PTO Check the connection of the transmission Blades do not is switched on.
  • Page 31: Optional

Optional Laminated tires Optionally, these rotary cutters can be supplied with rear laminated tires to relieve weight from the three-point hitch and to help when adjusting the cutting height. NOTE The rear laminated tire can be useful to set the cutting height of the blades by its adjustment (hole) found in the fixation support.
