4.2.
INSTALLING SAW CHAIN
4.2.1.
Fit one end of the saw chain around the guide bar, aligning inner edge of chain into groove on guide bar (fig 5).
NOTE: Ensure that the directional arrow on the saw chain corresponds with chain directional arrow on guide bar (fig 4).
4.2.2.
Fit other end of saw chain around the sprocket in the chainsaw body (fig 5).
4.2.3.
Position and locate the guide bar with the attached saw chain onto the chainsaw body by placing the slotted hole on the guide bar
over the threaded stud bolt on the chainsaw body (fig 5).
WARNING! Take care when handling the saw chain, it has sharp edges. Wear gloves, not cloth gloves.
4.2.4.
Place the sprocket cover onto the chainsaw body, tilt slightly and locate smaller tab, on sprocket cover, into groove on chainsaw
body, and at the same time locate the long tab, into slot on chainsaw body (fig 6).
4.2.5.
Release the lever, see section 4.1.2, manoeuvre the sprocket cover until it clicks into place.
4.2.6.
Hold the end of the guide bar and outwardly pull. Tighten the tension knob by turning clockwise (fig 7).
4.2.7.
Turn the lever clockwise until the sprocket cover is secured into place (fig 8).
4.2.8.
Push end of lever inwards and lower into the tension knob. Release level to lock into position (fig 9).
4.3.
ADJUSTING SAW CHAIN TENSION
NOTE: The saw chain may become loose after many hours of use. Periodically check the saw chain tension prior to use.
4.3.1.
Pull the lever up. See sections 4.1.1 and 4.1.2.
4.3.2.
Loosen slightly by turning counter clockwise, to loosen sprocket cover (fig 8).
4.3.3.
Turn the tension knob clockwise to tighten the saw chain, until the lower side of the saw chain fits into the guide rail.
4.3.4.
Hold the guide bar into position and turn the lever clockwise, until the sprocket cover is secure (fig 9).
4.3.5.
Return the lever into it's locked position. See section 4.2.8.
WARNING! DO NOT over tighten the tension knob. Excessive tension may cause saw chain breakage and guide bar wear.
Similarly a saw chain that is too loose could jump off the guide bar causing possible personal injury.

5. ATTACHMENT TO POLE
5.1.
ATTACHMENT TO TELESCOPIC POLE
WARNING! Before attaching or separating the cordless chainsaw from the telescopic pole switch off and remove the battery.
5.1.1.
Align the tongues of the cordless chainsaw pole (fig 10) with the grooves in the upper section of the telescopic pole (fig 11) and
push together as far as possible (fig 12).
5.1.2.
Tighten the locking joint nut by turning it counter clockwise until locked (fig 13).
5.1.3.
To separate again reverse sections 5.1.2 and 5.1.1.

6. OPERATION

WARNING! Ensure all Safety Instructions in Section 1 are read and understood and carried out before use. Save the instructions
and warnings for future reference.
6.1.

SHOULDER HARNESS

6.1.1.
Securely fasten the buckle (fig 14) and hook the harness clasp onto the telescopic poles hook fixing bracket (fig 15).
6.1.2.
Place the harness over your right shoulder only (fig 16).
6.2.
USING THE CORDLESS CHAINSAW
6.2.1.
Stand on a stable surface. Hold the chainsaw away from the branches at approx. 60º to the ground (fig 17).
6.2.2.
Start the chainsaw and gently press the saw chain onto the branch to be cut.
6.2.3.
When cutting long branches, divide the branch into cut length sections working inwards from the tip towards the trunk.
6.2.4.
When cutting thicker branches, firstly, make a shallow undercut and then finish the cut from the top.
NOTE: If you attempt to cut off thicker branches from below, the branch may close in and pinch the saw chain in the cut, also, if you
attempt to cut off thick branches from the top without a shallow undercut, the branch may splinter.
6.3.
CARRYING THE CORDLESS CHAINSAW
6.3.1.
Prior to carrying the cordless chainsaw remove the battery and then attach the guide bar cover (fig 18).
