13. Rotate bearing by hand and check for rough spots.
The bearing should rotate quietly and smoothly with
no detectable up and down movement and minimal
movement sideways between the inner and outer
races. Visually inspect for moisture, dirt or corrosion.

BEARING REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL
1. Remove outer snap ring.
2. From back side of the bearing carrier, using a press,
push on the outer bearing race as shown.

4. Push bearing out evenly by pushing on outer race
only. Once bearing is at bottom of casting, support
casting on outer edges so bearing can be removed.
5. Inspect bearing carrier housing for scratches, wear or
damage. Replace front bearing carrier if damaged.
INSTALLATION
1. Thoroughly clean the front bearing carrier housing
and the outer race on the new bearing. Be sure that
all oil residue has been removed from each surface.

2. Support the bottom of the bearing carrier housing.
CAUTION
Use an arbor and press only on the outer race,
otherwise bearing damage may occur.
3. Apply Loctite
®
603 retaining compound to the outer
circumference of the new bearing race and carefully
press the new bearing into the bearing carrier
housing.
NOTICE
Use care to not allow any of the Loctite
get in the bearing.
4. Wipe the housing clean of any excess compound and
install the snap ring.
