    Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router Model R6900v2 Connect to the Router During and after installation, you can connect to the router’s network through a wired or WiFi connection. If you set up your computer to use a static IP address, change the settings of your computer so that it uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

    You can set up your router automatically, or you can use a web browser to access the router and set up your router manually. The NETGEAR installation assistant launches automatically the first time that you set up the Internet connection for your router and runs on any device with a web browser.

You can also customize or specify your Internet settings.

This means that the WiFi network name (SSID), network key (password), and security option (encryption protocol) are preset in the factory. The preset SSID and password are uniquely generated for every device to protect and maximize your WiFi security.
