7-9 DV recording (Only DM-MV300i) description
1 Set the power switch to "VCR".
Power LED (green) lights up, with a cassette inserted in the stop mode. A signal at the terminals
(DV, S-VIDEO, AV mini terminal), the headphones terminal, and the speaker terminal (headphones priority) is on.
2 Connect a cable which is connected to a recording source to the DV terminal, then turn the recording source on.
Note : Should a playback picture be on (including special playback), the playback picture has priority.
3 Press REC STANDBY on the remote controller.
The unit enters the recording pause mode.
4 Press PLAY/PAUSE on the remote controller.
The unit starts to record video and audio signal incoming through a terminal selected in 2.
(PLAY/PAUSE toggles recording and recording pause.)
5 Press STOP. Recording stops.

In the DV recording mode, recording stops automatically if the DV input signal goes off.

Input signal CGMS (Copy Generation Management System : Copying restriction)
Only copying of unrestricted signal can be recorded (CGMS=00).
While in the recording mode or paused recording mode, should the unit detect copy restriction signal (CGMS=11), or 1-time copy
permission signal (CGMS=10), recording will stop.
The LCD panel and CVF are in the blue back output. The speaker and headphones outputs are muted.
Regarding the CGMSD signal while in the DV recording mode, the unit detects CGMSD signal of both the audio and video, and
uses data of the stronger copy restriction signal.
The input/output signal status for each mode is as follows :

1 S1 signal output (NTSC, PAL models)
When the full mode video signal compressed (squeezed) from 16 : 9 screen to 4 : 3, is the S terminal outputs the identification signal
for automatic return to the 16 : 9 wide S1 screen (when playing back a tape with system data related to the camera 16 : 9 mode,
aspect ratio, etc. recorded on it).
NTSC → 16 : 9 full mode + 4 : 3 letter box mode identification signal output
PAL → 16 : 9 full mode identification signal output
