SYMPTOM:

transmission not in
park (P) or neutral (N)
position
blown fuse
battery lead loose
low battery
faulty starter motor
SYMPTOM:
POSSIBLE CAUSE
out of fuel
flooded engine
loose or unconnected
spark plug caps
loose battery cables
weak battery
WHAT TO DO
Shift into park (P) or neutral
(N) position or press on the
brake pedal.
Replace with a new fuse of the
same rating (page 248).
Tighten the battery lead.
Charge the battery (page 216).
If charging doesn't help, see
your dealer.
If all possible causes are
negative, the starter motor
may be faulty. See your dealer.
WHAT TO DO
Fill the fuel tank.
See starting the engine step 5
(page 99).
Install the spark plug caps
securely. If the engine still
won't start, see your dealer.
Tighten the battery terminal
bolts.
Charge the battery (page 216).
If charging doesn't help, see
your dealer.
