DRAINING FUEL
4
Gasoline and its vapors are highly
flammable and explosive. Death
or serious personal injury can
5
result from failing to comply with
warning instructions in this manu-
al.
6
Do not smoke when draining
fuel and keep away from sparks,
flames, or other sources of
ignition.
7
Stop engine and allow it to cool
for several minutes before
draining fuel.
Drain fuel in a well-ventilated
8
area.
Take care not to spill gasoline.
If gasoline spills, wipe it up
9
immediately with dry rags.
Always dispose of gasoline-
soaked rags properly.
Tighten the filler cap securely
10
after checking fuel level.
If you inhale a lot of gasoline
vapor, or get gasoline in your
eyes, get immediate medical
11
attention.

2. Turn the fuel shutoff valve to the
"CLOSED" position.
3. Drain the carburetor float
chamber into a clean container by
loosening the drain bolt; this will
help prevent fuel deposits from
building up. Pour the drained fuel
into the fuel tank.
Specified amount:
1 oz. of stabilizer for each gallon of
fuel (7.5 cc of stabilizer for each liter
of fuel)
:
NOTE
Use of fuel stabilizer and conditioner
eliminates the need to drain the fuel
system. Consult a Yamaha dealer if
the fuel system needs to be drained
instead.
