Heat constantly below a certain outside temperature
The heating system can cool down under a certain value due to the
setback mode_ In such cases DIN-EN 12831 requires that heating
surfaces and heat sources are designed for a certain output. This serves
to maintain a comfort heat.
In Heat constantly below you can set at what outside temperature the
setback mode is interrupted (in reference to the adjusted outside
temperature) .
Fig. 11 and 12 show how the frost protection function works, with and
without this parameter activated. Selected settings: Setback type:
Outside temperature threshold; Reduced mode below: 5°C.

[2] Reduced mode (desired room temperature for setback mode)
[3] Heating mode (desired room temperature for heating mode)
If the outside temperature falls below -15 °C, the heating system goes
out of the reduced mode into the heating mode[3]. This allows smaller
heating surfaces to be utilised.
